The setup
I discovered ResortPass while researching ways to experience the magic of Disney at a slower pace. The platform offers day passes to multiple Disney resorts and partner properties depending on availability. The Swan and Dolphin had lap pool passes available, though many other options were sold out on my preferred Saturday in late July. The booking process was straightforward: purchase online, receive a confirmation email with all the details, and show up on your scheduled day.
What's included in the day pass:
- Pool Access: The Grotto pool (tropical waterfalls and waterslide), two lap pools, the Spring pool, a relaxation pool, and four whirlpools
- Amenities: Complimentary towel service, health club access, outdoor ping pong and pool tables, beachside playground, sand volleyball courts, and complimentary Wi-Fi
- Water Activities: Watercraft rentals and complimentary life jackets (first come, first served)
- Food: Three poolside restaurants available for purchase via QR code or at the bar
- Parking: Self-parking for $15 (no payment needed until you leave)
What happened
We arrived mid morning on Saturday, July 25th, a warm summer day. The resort sits about 15 minutes from Magic Kingdom, between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. After parking, we headed straight to the pool check in hut, where staff were friendly and efficient. We collected complimentary towels and got oriented to the property. Even as day guests, we had full access to explore the Grotto pool area, the lap pools, and all the lounging spaces. It didn't feel segregated or awkward. Day passes blend seamlessly with resort guests.
The experience
We spent most of our time at the Grotto pool, which features a waterslide and tropical waterfall aesthetic. The water was clean and well maintained, and despite a moderate crowd, it didn't feel packed or chaotic. The group rotated taking turns on the waterslide, a genuine highlight since even adults get a kick out of it. Around 11:30am, a DJ showed up and played music until about 4pm, adding a fun energy to the afternoon.
Food arrived via a streamlined QR code ordering system. We ordered a cheeseburger and a chicken BLT, both decent sized sandwiches that came with fries. The cheeseburger was solid and fresh, and the BLT had crispy bacon and fresh lettuce. Each sandwich was around $20, which is average park food pricing. The menu offers typical poolside fare including burgers, salads, wraps, and drinks.
We stayed for about six hours, which felt like a comfortable amount of time to relax, swim, eat, and explore without feeling rushed. The resort has plenty of lounging areas, and with six people we could easily find adjacent chairs.
Where it fell short
- Peak season crowds. On a busy summer Saturday, the pools do get moderately full. It's not overwhelming, but there is a possibility of searching for a chair.
Tips if you go
- Book on a weekday if possible. Saturdays and Sundays drive up prices and increase crowds.
- Arrive early. The pools are clearest and least crowded before 11am.
- The lap pools are genuinely nice if you want to swim laps without fighting crowds. They're often overlooked.
- We observed a couple at the pools who had not purchased a day pass and brought snacks and beverages from home to enjoy the day.

Worth It If… you're looking for a relaxing pool day without theme park lines and crowds. For under $100 a person, the Swan and Dolphin day pass is a solid alternative when you just want to swim, relax, and enjoy the resort amenities. The pools are clean, the experience is seamless, and you'll find plenty to do.
